ICT in Business and the Public Sector

The curriculum depends on the student’s background. Students with a Leiden University bachelor in Computer Science, specialization “Informatica & Economie” follow an alternative curriculum (see OER). All the other students follow the main curriculum (see below).

If you are a student with a Leiden University bachelor in Computer Science, specialization “Informatica & Economie”, you can replace marked courses (see OER) with courses from the Leiden University master Computer Science. For selected courses the schedules are aligned (see schedule on the ICTiB&PS website).

First year

The Master ICT in Business and the Public Sector offers two specialisations: ICT in Business or ICT in the Public Sector. Students have to choose one of the specialisations at the end of the first semester: a set of 18 ECTS ICTiB courses or a set of 18 ECTS ICTitPS courses.

Not all specialisation-courses of the ICTiB- specialisation are mandatory. See the OER for more details.

Second year

The Master ICT in Business and the Public Sector offers two specialisations: ICT in Business or ICT in the Public Sector. Complete curriculum can be found in the OER.

In the second year, students have to choose electives (9ec in total). Electives (master level!) can be taken everywhere as long as the Examination Board gives permission beforehand.

Post Experience

Persons who have acquired a Bachelor ICT degree and at least three years of working experience, can join the Master of Science programme ICT in Business and the Public Sector. This programme is developed especially for those students who can not participate in daytime courses; most of the courses will take place in the evenings. The programme strongly appeals to self-efficacy.

This programme offers various specialisation courses. Whether a specialisation course will take place or not, depends upon the number of participants.

Students that started their ICTiB&PS studies in September 2017 or February 2018 have to follow some courses from the former curriculum (OER 2017-2018).
