Practical Information

Exchange (English only)

We are pleased to welcome you to the Institute of Public Administration. In this part of the prospectus you can find the courses that we offer to exchange students. We want to address some important issues, namely:

1 How to get registered for courses and exams.
2 Participate in the retake
3 Disabilities
4 Where to find the schedule
5 Contact

1. How to get registered for courses and exams.

Students are registered for their pre-approved Public Administration courses and exams in uSis. The registration becomes visible in your schedule appr. 4 weeks before the start of the courses.

If you want to participate in one of our courses but you are not pre-approved, please contact the FGGA International Office. They can inform you whether or not there are seats available.

Students are not automatically registered for the re-exams. Students need to do this themselves. Registration for the re-exams of block 1 and 2 opens from 1 p.m. on [TBA] and closes 5 days prior to the exam. Registration for the re-exams of block 3 and 4 opens from 1 p.m. on [TBA] and closes 5 days prior to the exam.

You pass the exam if the result is 5,5 or higher. A result lower than 5,5 means that you failed the exam.

2. Participate in the retake

Sufficient grades may never be retaken. Exceptions can only be made with consent of the Board of Examiners. Read more about the regulations regarding education in the Course and Examination Regulations and the Rules and Regulations of the Board of Examiners.

3. Disabilities

It’s possible that due to circumstances you may need more time for an exam or even need to take an exam on a laptop. Examples of such circumstances would be dyslexia or ADHD. Should you need to make use of these facilities, we recommend making an appointment with Fenestra as soon as possible. We advise you to bring along all relevant medical certificates and test results. Please ensure that you also clearly indicate which facilities you think are necessary. Once the student counselors of Fenestra see the need for additional facilities, they will advise our Board of Examiners. If you already have a statement from Fenestra, please e-mail this to the study advisers a.s.a.p.

In the event that you have received or will receive advice from Fenestra, we would like to make you aware of the following important information.

In order to be able to arrange these facilities we need you to provide certain information in a timely manner. The Education Services Center intends to make this process as easy as possible for you. They will send you an email well in advance of each block, in which you will be specifically asked for this information. If you respond within the deadline and provide us with full information, you are guaranteed to be able to make use of the necessary facilities. You will receive a confirmation email, which also contains (among other things) the exam time and location. Please check whether you have received this email!

Incomplete information or replies after the deadline will not be taken into consideration anymore. In effect this means that there won’t be any additional facilities available to you and that you will have to take the exam in the regular lecture hall.

We would also like to bring to your attention that the only facilities that are available are those that have been mentioned by Fenestra in their advice to the Board of Examiners. Discussions with teachers, a colleague of the Education Services Center and/or supervisor that take place before, during or after the exam will be relayed to the study advisers of Public Administration. In case of repeated instances, they will relay this to the Board of Examiners who could possibly decide not to follow the advice of Fenestra anymore.
