Description

Language Acquisition courses teach you how to write and speak English clearly, especially in academic contexts. ‘Language Acquisition 1’ is an English academic writing course. This course teaches you to develop thoughts about academic discourse, find and organise reliable information, and combine your thoughts and findings in a coherent and correct text that meets the conventions of English academic writing. While investigating your essay topic, you will learn about sources, referencing, plagiarism, paragraph/text structure, argumentation, academic lexicon, and tentative/objective language use. In the process of practicing and peer-reviewing, you will discover what your grammar, punctuation, and other low-level challenges are.
