Admission requirements

Compulsory for students enrolled in the RESMAAS program

Description

In the period the course is offered, students start to write their individual research proposals. In several meetings students bring in their draft proposal for discussion. Comments will be provided by the instructors as well as by fellow students. Attention will be given to the structuring of arguments and the development of research questions on the basis of debates on the current state of research.

Course objectives

The objective of the course is to assist students in:

  • setting-up their research project

  • critically engage in formulating research questions

  • theoretical and methodological considerations in different phases of the project.

Course Load

  • The course comprises 5 EC and the total course load is thus 140 hrs

  • 26 hrs of these will be spent on lectures, feedback in the successive presentation of parts of the proposal

  • 34 hrs to be spent on studying literature and compiling documents

  • 80 hrs for writing a final paper

Evaluation of final revised proposal

Exam review

How and when an exam review will take place will be disclosed together with the publication of the exam results at the latest. If a student requests a review within 30 days after publication of the exam results, an exam review will have to be organized.
