Admission requirements

Students admitted to Students admitted to MA Japanese Studies (60 ec). Students must have passed MA Advanced Integrated Japanese 1 (J60) (10 ec) in semester 1.

Description

In this relatively short course, students will focus on developing skills to be able to express and discuss their professional field of study. Language activities are organized in order to develop and enhance logical thinking further. Students will also receive training in developing skills necessary to both present and produce texts about specialized topics including their thesis.

  • Total: 140 hrs – Classes: 28 hrs (2 hrs twice a week over 7 weeks) – Text reading and class preparations: 50 hrs – Preparation for the oral presentation: 20 hrs – Preparation for the Kanji Quizzes: 10 hrs – Writing Assignments : 10 hrs – Extra activities: Japanese internet news site reading etc.: 22 hrs

Participation element (attendance, assignments, Kanji & Vocabulary Quiz): 40%
Oral presentation: 30%
Final exams (reading & writing): 30%
