Description
The course introduces students to the academic study of the foreign policy of the United States since 1945. It applies the major theories and themes in American foreign policy to historical case studies and contemporary issues. By the end of the course, students will be familiar with how foreign policy is determined, the range of current and future obstacles facing policy makers, and how they plan to overcome them. Students should also develop the analytical skills to critically evaluate foreign policy in the future.

Seminar and presentations.
Literature
Approximately 1000 pages.
Examination
Presentations and a final essay of ~ 4000 words.
