Approval from the Study Adviser, and an approved agreement in ProjectMAP.
Reading and critically evaluating scientific literature is one of the key activities of an active scientist. The student will write and present a critical thesis about the most important findings within a research field of choice (in a broad sense). The writing of this thesis is supervised by one of the staff members of the research group of choice.
All guidelines can be found on Opleiding Biologie > Informatie Bachelorprogramma > Het derde studiejaar > ‘Richtlijnen BSc Literature Review' on Brightspace.
After completion of the course, students are able to:
1. Interpret and assess the importance of relevant literature.
2. Identify and locate the most relevant literature related to a field of research in which they plan to be active.
3. Analyze and review scientific papers.
4. Compose a concise document that reflects the main questions in a research area.
