Description

In this course students learn how to conduct narratives through assignments given in class. We learn, through graphic design, typography and photography amongst other skills, to develop coherent and compelling (visual) narratives that convey your ideas to a viewer/reader.

Learning objectives

In this course you will be challenged to find your own perspective in approaching content provided to you, you will learn how to approach graphic design from an editorial perspective and you will find (the beginnings of) your own interest and voice to communicate in intriguing visual form. All of this will be exercised through hands-on assignments using different digital/analogue techniques such as collage, riso-printing, screen-printing, image editing, poster design and publication design. This course encourages material development over digital intervention as a way to come to new and surprising visual languages. Use of all KABK’s workshop facilities is supported. The course ends with an exhibition.
If you are intersted in viewing the works of this year's students, please visit the online exhibition Reef of Art here.
